Magic is Flute's first foal, she was foaled in 2002.
She has done very well in the show ring. As a yearling she was champion at Alyth Show on her first outing. 1st prize yearling at The Royal Highland, Champion at Angus, Champion at Echt, 1st prize yearling and Reserve Champion at Turriff, 1st prize yearling at the Duthie Park and Scottish Farmer highland pony shows.

As a 2yo she was only shown twice, she was 1st prize 2yo at the Highland Show and Champion at Fettercairn. In 2005 as a 3yo she had three show outings, gaining two firsts and a second.
Magic was covered in 2005, we are now looking forward to the arrival of her first foal in April 2006.

July 2006, Magic has what will be her only show outings for this season. Her first trip was to Fettercairn show where she won the brood mare class and was Reserve Champion Highland Pony. The following week saw us head down to Strathallan for the biennial HPS Breed Show, little did we know when we set off in the morning, what a wonderful day it was going to be for us. We were pleased with how well Magic looked for just a young mare with her first foal at foot, and were hopeful that she might get a good place in the brood mare class, and if we were lucky her foal would maybe get a prize. For her to win her class and then go on to be in-hand champion was just beyond our wildest dreams, no one could have been happier that day than we were.
We were delighted that her foal won the filly foal class and this meant that we were presented with the lovely Tarnach Trophy, a most beautiful bronze of a mare and foal, which is awarded for the highest placed mare and foal combination.

Magic's foal is to be called Lochlands Fiery Angel, following the Opera theme like her dam. This was the choice of her delighted new owner, who had the pleasure of showing her at the breed show. Willie and I wish Angela every success with her new pony, and hope Magic has another filly, for us to keep for ourselves before too long.
2007: Magic had her second foal in April, a colt this time, by Belivat Muldoanich . Following the opera theme this foal has been called Lochlands Prince Igor.

2008: Magic foaled in April, a lovely filly and continuing the Opera theme for Magic and her foals, she has been called Lochlands Snow Maiden. Maiden is full sister to Magic's previous two foals and we are looking forward to seeing how she develops.
